From Jessica McTaggert of Pink Champagne Events:The "wild" flowers in her hair, bouquets, bouts, and centerpieces were an important detail to pull in the natural elements. All grown at the Farmette, the flowers were harvested the morning of the wedding to provide fresh color throughout each element.
Diana and Seth have a love for food (Seth is a chef in Denver) and a flair for nature. They kept reiterating casual and family oriented with great food and a touch of vintage and boho elements to bring in their personalities. The soft color palette of coral, teal, gold, and ivory played well with the Farmette's natural surroundings and ambiance.
As part of the vintage elements, Diana sourced a chandelier used in the '70's and brought in old books to be used throughout cocktail hour and the dessert table. Dinner was definitely farm to table by way of local purveyors and sourcing each ingredient within 20 miles of the venue.
What the bride would have done differently:Really I could not have been happier with our wedding! Everything was so gorgeous and incredibly magical! The only regret I have was not taking the time to really walk around and soak in the use of all of the little details I had put so much effort into finding!
I spent a lot of time collecting unique glassware, candle holders and vases to use as décor, boho linens, hand-knitted afghans and throw pillows to accent all the little seating areas … Luckily I had a fantastic photographer that captured all of the details so well! I only wish my husband and I had maybe taken just those few moments, by ourselves, to look around, hand in hand, and really soak in all of the magic surrounding us!
We were very lucky in that both our families contributed to the cost of our wedding. We had an initial budget of $17,000 from the bride’s family and a budget of approximately $6,000 from the groom’s family for the reception band and other costs. It was incredibly important to us, that any extras came out of our own pockets and that we really kept budgeting in check. We had amazing friends that donated their talents and services to us and we saved an incredible amount of money by having the (venue) Lyons Farmette do all of the flowers instead of going through a florist. All of the flowers came straight from the farm and where cut that very morning! I was extremely budget conscious by shopping for unique décor at thrift shops, antique stores, and discount departments….I am most proud of the gorgeous jewelry I got myself and my bridesmaids for an AMAZING price! Our families were amazed with what we accomplished with our budget and we could not have dreamed of a more beautiful, perfect wedding! I am in awe every time I look at the photographs!
